Pass one's first steps
At Shoemakers, we know that everything starts with your child's first steps. It's the starting point for their confidence. Their first success is when they finally stand on their own two feet and walk straight and smiling. That's why we've been accompanying your children's walk for almost 50 years. We study shapes and reinforcements for perfect support, we select the finest materials, and we refine the finishes for impeccable comfort.

A fundamental step for the development of the child
To successfully walk, the child goes through a series of stages that allow him to stimulate and develop his muscles, gain tone, improve his coordination and find balance.
Sitting, crawling, belly-down, and crawling are all possible processes. Every child is different and develops their own unique way of moving. Sometimes one after the other, sometimes a combination of them.
Then comes the moment of the first steps, when he places one foot in front of the other and runs straight and smiling. This is an important step that should not be rushed. It is important to know that the foot is a very sensitive organ that collects and transmits a huge amount of information necessary for a child's learning.

To best support the first steps of your child
●︎ Let him take his time developing his walk. Every child learns to walk at their own pace. Only when they have gained enough confidence and self-assurance can they begin to stand and walk.
●︎ Leave him barefoot as much as possible inside the house. This will allow him to better feel the ground, its roughness, to perfect his balance and develop his proprioception.
●︎ Choosing good first walking shoes. First-walking shoes should be comfortable and flexible enough to ensure your child doesn't experience any discomfort while learning to walk. Even minimal discomfort can cause imbalance, deformity, walking problems, weight-bearing issues, or even a fall.
