HISTORY

The Group

Shoemakers is the name of the entity which gathers round Pom d’Api four other brands of shoes for children. With more than a century of experience and tradition, a relentless search to propose season after season products of the best quality, Shoemakers has grown up over time. Passion of the profession and creativity make it today one of the last french manufacturers of shoes for children and one of the first brand of international notoriety in this field.

In Chambretaud, in Vendée, the group possesses its own design office in which 15 patternmakers and modelers work on the development of new models thanks to the know-how transmitted by previous generations. Colors and materials are studied according to the currents and trends. Soles, closures, linings and accessories are carefully selected for their functionality, their quality, their modernity. Each season almost 100 new models are imagined by the design office of Shoemakers, of which 50 % are retained to enrich the collections.

All the steps of the manufacturing process are performed by internal teams : leather supply, manufacture of prototypes in the workshop of Chambretaud, production of shoes in our factory. The patternmakers monitor the manufacture of their models until the boxing process.

The group’s brands are present at many retailers and proposed through a network of Pom d’Api stores, in France and worldwide : from Paris to Moscow, by way of Antwerp, London, Copenhagen, New York and Beirut.
